Iraq Star

At Foley Plastic Surgery Center, we provide reconstructive surgery for Iraq War veterans through the Iraq Star program.  It is our hope that our contribution will help young soldiers regain their prewar lives.

About Iraq Star
Iraq Star is a non-profit foundation dedicated to providing reconstructive surgery to our Iraq War Veterans. Over 24,000 wounded veterans have returned to the United States, of these, many have received injuries that require additional reconstructive surgery. The Veterans Administration will provide the aesthetic arms and legs, primarily skin grafting for burn victims, and the essential procedures to make our soldiers functional once again.
However, the VA is stretched beyond their limits and the aesthetic surgeries are not always offered. These are the scars from shrapnel wounds and burns that require additional scar revisions.

The Iraq Star foundation does not want the war to permanently disfigure our soldiers for the rest of their promising young lives. It is the Foundation’s hope that reconstructive surgery will not only enable these soldiers to more readily return to their prewar lives, but also enable them to more effectively heal from the emotional trauma they endure.
These surgeries will be provided by Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. Each and every veteran will be treated like a Star during his journey to recovery. The Foundation provides transportation, hotel accommodations, food, reconstructive surgery, medications and post-operative care. Our soldiers are the unsung celebrities who deserve to be noted as invaluable treasures of our country.
